Nude Portraiture (1990)
This image holds a special place in my heart. It was made during my first photo shoot ever with a nude model. I started college as a theater major and enrolled in a photography course because I wanted to learn how to create better images. This photograph was taken late one evening on the stage in the college’s theater under the stage lights. If not for the model’s modern hair cut, it feels as though it was made a century earlier than when it was created.
It is not a perfect image. For me, that is part of its charm. I am grateful that it exists, that it helped to set me on the course of making additional images, and that I have the opportunity to share it once again.
