Fantasy Suite (1992)
Of all of the figurative work that I have produced, this series of images is the most challenging for me to write about. I named this series after the project had completed and there was gallery and publisher interest in promoting the work. That provided some external motivation to name the series and individual images. The original series title was b-boy (sexual) fantasy suite and the work appeared in two publications under that name. With hindsight, I regret the cultural appropriation of the term “b-boy.” I do not have direct connections to the African American breakdancing or hip hop cultures.
